Aircraft registration or de-registration

MAA-NOR is tasked by the Norwegian military aviation authority to maintain Norwegian Defence Aircraft Register, NDAR.

The Operator of the aircraft (RNoAF) or its authorised representative (CAMO) are the only entities within the Norwegian defence sector eligible to apply for registration of military aircraft onto the register.

Both the Operator/CAMO and the NDMA Demilitarization, Dismantling and Disposal organisation are eligible to apply for de-registration of Norwegian military aircraft from the register.

All applications shall be registered on the case in the archive system of the Norwegian Defence Sector set up for correspondence between MAA-NOR and the organisation in question.

Application for registration of aircraft on NDAR

The application letter shall contain

  • a list of aircraft registration marks / aircraft manufacturer serial numbers to be registered on NDAR
  • refererence to the military type certificate (or similar certification) for the aircraft type, valid for the planned military usage pattern.

Download the template for MAA-NOR Form REG using the link below, and prepare one file per aircraft to be registered with the following information:

  • Registration mark
  • Manufacturer
  • Manufacturer type designation, and if applicable, configuration type
  • Manufacturer serial number
  • Owner
  • The date for registration onto NDAR
    (from 00:00h that date is the aircraft registered on NDAR)

Attachments to the application letter, per aircraft:

  • The MAA-NOR Form REG .pdf file(s)
    (DocuLive Produksjons-format)
  • One or several pictures showing the data plate aircraft type, manufacturer name and manufacturer serial number
  • One or several pictures showing the aircraft registration mark as applied to the exterior of the aircraft 
  • If applicable, a copy of the de-registration certificate from the previous aircraft register on which the aircraft was registered (civilian or military)

MAA-NOR will enter the certificate sequence number in the upper right field before issuing the document.

Application for de-registration of aircraft from NDAR

The application letter shall contain

  • a list of aircraft registration marks / aircraft manufacturer serial numbers to be removed from NDAR
  • for each aircraft the reason for the de-registration:
    - formally disposed of according to current regulation
    - wrecked ( totalhavarert )
    - declared missing
    - no longer to be used for military aviation

Download the template for MAA-NOR Form DEREG using the link below, and prepare one file per aircraft to be registered with the following information:

  • Registration mark
  • Manufacturer
  • Manufacturer type designation, and if applicable, configuration type
  • Manufacturer serial number
  • The date for de-registration onto NDAR
    (from 00:00h that date is the aircraft no longer registered on NDAR)

Attachments to the application letter, per aircraft:

  • The MAA-NOR Form DEREG .pdf file(s)
    (DocuLive Produksjons-format)

MAA-NOR will enter the certificate sequence number in the upper right field before issuing the document.
