Our main tasks are to acquire, manage and phase out material for the Armed Forces and other enterprises in the defence sector.
The NDMA shall manage the material throughout its lifetime in order to ensure performance, technical availability and safety in accordance with laws, rules and other requirements.

Procurement
The Armed Forces procure materials and services at a value of roughly 16 billion NOK annually, ranging from larger armaments investment programs to small scale procurement of supplies or services.
Materiel management
One of the main tasks of NDMA is to manage all the material of the Armed Forces.
Demilitarization, dismantling and disposal
One of the responsibilities of the agency is the phasing out, demilitarization, dismantling and disposal of materiel that the defence sector no longer has any use for.
